I am a figurative sculptor working in bronze. I have lived and studied art and languages in Montreal, France and Mexico. I currently live in Vancouver, and work in my studio at 1000 Parker Street. My larger sculptures are shown at Buckland Southerst Gallery in Dundarave and at Gild & Co in Vancouver’s West Side. My line of figurative, bronze wall hooks and door knockers ("Physical Attachments”) are available online and at several Lower Mainland locations which are listed at PhysicalAttachments.com.
I have been working as a sculptor and showing my work publicly for over ten years. Prior to that, I had a career in Graphic Design and Photography. I am a member of the Sculptors Society of BC, and have participated in many group and solo shows over the past ten years. My work has been included in the Arts Umbrella ‘Splash’ Auction, and I am a regular participant in the EastSide Culture Crawl, Kate Duncan’s Address and the Annual Parker Art Salon in Vancouver.
WHY WE'RE ONE OF A KIND
Physical Attachments are individually hand made works of figurative sculpture. They are designed to mount on the wall and can be used as wall hooks or door knockers if you choose, but mostly, they are made to look beautiful wherever you put them and whatever you might use them for.
The idea originally came from a desire to offer people access to affordable figurative bronze sculpture. Each one is hand worked by me and signed before it is cast in metal. (click here to see the whole process - 'How Bronze Sculpture is Made" - http://physicalattachments.com/process.html). The final product is packaged in a lovely, hand sewn, canvas drawstring gift pouch, and stamped with the name of the piece (Each one is named after the Burlesque artist that inspired it: Lola, Pearl, Ginger, Rose, Lars, Betty or Johan).
