During my early twenties, I experimented with different art forms, taking a variety of night school courses at Centennial College and week long courses at The Haliburton School of Fine Art, searching for a medium that held my interest. A friend of my Grandmother taught my Mother glass fusing, and my Mother in turn taught me. While my children napped, I experimented with glass, and have never looked back. At the same time, my Mother and Father started their glass studio in New York. We worked independently of each other, but spent a lot of time exchanging ideas and techniques as we taught ourselves how to fuse, while forming a special bond through our work.
Today I enjoy a home studio where I take great delight in my line of whimsical sun catchers, with my two new studio assistants, Lilly and Willow, two cats who needed a new home.
Being mostly self-taught, my work has a unique look. My primary technique utilizes materials not often used in present day fusing.
My pieces begin with clear "window" glass, which I cut, colour with glass enamels, and kiln fire.
I ship via Expedited Canada Post, which is trackable online. For international orders, any duty is extra and is the responsibility of the buyer. My packaging is very safe and secure. The sun catchers come taped onto cardboard, with bubble wrap protection.
