Hi, my name is Greg. After studying philosophy, I travelled around for a little while, washing dishes, cutting hair, playing music, working on films, and drawing. In an attempt to avoid having a “real” job, I taught myself the craft of pottery. Each piece is made and decorated by me in my home studio. The hand drawn images of birds, moustaches, mix-tapes, bicycles and the like are meant to warm your heart as much as they are meant to warm your leftovers.
Handmade in my home studio. The hand drawn images are meant to warm your heart as much as they are meant to warm your leftovers.
Each piece starts out as a lump of clay, which is weighed and wedged into a ball, thrown on a potter’s wheel by hand, trimmed and handled and set to dry for about a week. It’s then inspected, sanded and fired in a kiln for about 12 hours. It’s then sanded again and glazed by hand with my own glaze that I make myself with raw materials. After that it is placed in the kiln again for about another 12 hours, taken out and decorated with my hand drawn images. At this point it’s fired again for about 8 hours to be inspected and sanded again a final time before making its way to its future home.
